International Integration and Expanding Operational Insight

Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Members of the TRB Community

The Trauma Regulation Board continues to strengthen its international presence, deepening relationships across frontline services and expanding the reach of trauma‑regulated practice. This month’s update highlights significant developments across the United States, Nepal and the United Kingdom, reflecting the TRB’s commitment to building stable, evidence‑informed systems that protect both workforce and community wellbeing.

Florida - Expanding International Integration

The TRB has recently completed a full operational circuit across Florida, engaging with frontline services and organisations working within emergency response, mental health and community support.

During this period, dynamic observations were conducted across multiple operational environments. These early‑stage reviews provided insight into system functioning, workforce pressures and trauma‑exposure risks. This formed part of TRB’s broader approach to understanding how trauma influences service delivery in real‑world contexts.

This engagement marks an important step in strengthening collaborative relationships across the United States. Building on previous work undertaken by CEO Troy Finbow; the TRB now has an established operational stretch along almost the entire coastline between Niceville, Florida and Manhattan, New York.

The TRB has also identified opportunities to collaborate with several well‑known organisations to deliver high‑impact work across multiple international locations, extending support beyond first responders and military veterans. Initial discussions are underway to explore how trauma‑regulated frameworks can enhance existing service models, including suicide prevention and trauma‑prevention pathways.

Nepal - Multi‑Service Community Engagement

The Nepal community, representing a range of frontline and humanitarian services, has formally requested the TRB support.

Early discussions have focused on the development of an integrated, trauma‑informed team approach with particular emphasis on:

  • firefighter and first responder suicide prevention

  • children and young people’s mental health

  • community trauma‑stabilisation frameworks

  • multi‑agency collaboration models

The TRB is currently exploring how best to support the development of sustainable, locally‑embedded trauma‑informed systems. This includes testing ideas, strengthening trusted networks and working alongside Nepalese organisations to help them achieve world‑leading trauma‑informed delivery.

This represents a significant step in extending trauma‑regulated thinking into international humanitarian and frontline contexts.

United Kingdom - Ongoing Development & Requested Assistance

Across the UK, the TRB continues to receive requests for support from organisations seeking guidance in:

  • trauma‑informed system development

  • workforce stabilisation and support

  • redesign of service pathway

  • safeguarding and risk‑decision frameworks

The TRB is reviewing these requests and developing structured responses where appropriate; offering a clear and accessible route to comprehensive solutions for complex national challenges.

Rolling Out the Response

Across all regions, the TRB is actively:

  • building strategic relationships

  • conducting dynamic system observations

  • reviewing service frameworks

  • developing integrated responses

  • supporting sustainable trauma‑informed practice

This work reflects the TRB’s continued commitment to strengthening trauma‑informed practice across frontline services, both nationally and internationally.

Concrete Foundations for Prevention

As the TRB expands, its growth is being built upon solid, carefully reviewed foundations. The New CEO Troy Finbow has initiated a comprehensive review of our TRB’s internal systems to ensure all operational components function cohesively and remain aligned with TRB’s core regulatory principles.

These foundations will continue to act as a springboard for new, dynamic solutions creating a catalogue of trauma‑regulated approaches that organisations can adopt to enhance performance, safeguard their workforce and prevent trauma at the earliest possible stage.

This includes:

  • addressing unregulated attempts at support

  • preventing organisational and individual harm

  • enhancing workforce performance and retention

  • supporting those exposed to trauma in accessing meaningful help

  • improving wellbeing, reducing sickness and absence and strengthening organisational capability

Recruiting, training, retaining, and developing the workforce remains central to building stable, resilient systems. When individuals feel supported and regulated within their roles, teams strengthen, workplaces become healthier and the quality of service delivery naturally elevates. A supported workforce is not only more effective; it forms the foundation of safe, sustainable organisational practice.

The Trauma Regulation Board continues to lead the way in trauma regulation on the international stage. Individuals and organisations across the globe are already experiencing the benefits of structured, evidence‑informed trauma governance.

Be involved. Be connected. Be the change.
