TRB Newsletter 06/05/26

Dear Colleagues, Partners and Members of theTRBCommunity.
The TRB impact overview
The last six months have been a period of rapid growth, international outreach, and strengthened regulation for The Trauma Regulation Board. As trauma‑informed governance becomes a global priority, the TRB continues to lead the movement toward safer accountable practice.
Strengthening Trauma‑Informed Regulation
The TRB has continued embedding its Tri‑Phasic regulatory model across services where trauma is often mishandled. More organisations have entered the accreditation and compliance process, reflecting a rising awareness that trauma work must be regulated to prevent re‑traumatisation. Oversight, standards and reporting pathways have all been strengthened.
Raising Practitioner Standards
Accreditation applications have increased steadily, with practitioners seeking competency‑based standards rather than unregulated training. The TRB has refined its assessment processes to ensure accredited professionals demonstrate safe, ethical, trauma‑competent practice.
International Engagement: Nepal & the United States
This period has also seen major international outreach:
Nepal Visit: The TRB representatives engaged with local leaders, educators and health professionals to explore how trauma‑informed regulation can support communities facing generational and environmental trauma. Early discussions have opened pathways for long‑term collaboration and capacity‑building.
United States Visit: The TRB’s visit to America focused on strengthening relationships with organisations seeking structured trauma governance. Meetings highlighted the need for consistent standards across states and sectors and laid the groundwork for future Global TRB partnerships.
These visits mark a significant step in expanding The TRB’s global footprint and aligning international trauma‑regulation language.
Men & Boys: Addressing an Overlooked Crisis
A key focus has been the systemic neglect of trauma in men and boys. The TRB has delivered talks and raised awareness about the cultural and structural barriers that prevent men from accessing trauma support. This work is shaping new policy recommendations aimed at inclusive trauma‑informed services.
ICD‑12 Transition Work
With global diagnostic standards evolving, the TRB has been preparing guidance to support organisations through the transition to ICD‑12. The emphasis remains on clarity, safety, and ensuring that diagnostic changes do not compromise trauma‑informed care.
Public Protection & Reporting
The TRB has strengthened its reporting mechanisms, encouraging both professionals and the public to raise concerns about unsafe or harmful trauma practice. The message remains clear: reporting is protective, not punitive.
Looking Ahead
The next phase of the TRB’s work will continue to focus on regulation, global alignment and raising the bar for trauma‑competent practice. With growing international engagement and increasing demand for accreditation, the movement toward safer trauma governance is accelerating.
Be informed. Be a change‑maker. Be supported. Be regulated.
